Line stake and total round stake can differ
A payout multiplier may apply to one component of the round rather than all money staked.
The distinction that matters
Identify the rule's basis before multiplying. Total round stake may comprise several lines or other components, but the exact structure comes from the game's rules. A multiplier labelled per line cannot automatically be applied to the total. Similarly, a total-stake award should not be multiplied by the number of lines again.
A worked example
In a fictional five-line example, C$0.20 per line gives a C$1 total stake. A 10-times line-stake award is C$2, not C$10. If the rules instead say ten times the total stake, the result would be C$10. The wording changes the calculation.
Your next steps
- Record both line and total stake if the game uses them.
- Copy the multiplier's stated basis.
- Check whether multiple awards can be combined.
- Reconcile gross payout with the total round cost.
Where this answer stops
This example does not establish the rules of ways, cluster or other game formats. Do not force a per-line model onto a product that uses a different structure.
