Ontario casino complaint escalation: choose the applicable route
An unresolved payment question needs the route that applies to the actual product and operator. A complaint reference and a clear follow-up record help distinguish stages of that process.
First identify whose process applies
Record the website, product and jurisdiction involved. Do not assume a familiar brand has the same legal entity, product or complaint route everywhere. Keep OLG separate: the iGO directory identifies OLG as operating under OLG’s own conduct and management. An OLG dispute should not be treated as an iGO private-operator dispute.
Use the official source to establish the relevant route. Northline’s address check is a limited comparison against dated records; it cannot adjudicate the dispute or decide which authority will accept it.
What iGO’s support page actually says
iGO’s review route concerns eligible products conducted and managed by iGO through its operators. For an ordinary unresolved operator dispute, its guidance calls for the formal operator process, adequate response time under service standards, checking for missed replies and a follow-up attempt. It describes review after an unresolved or unsatisfactory response; it cannot settle bets, refund wagers or award compensation.
The same page identifies different routing for some responsible-gambling, suspected-illegal-activity and advertising matters. Follow its current questionnaire for your situation, including former operators; do not apply the ordinary payment sequence to every complaint.
Worked example: live chat has not answered the question
A fictional player has three chat conversations about an approved withdrawal, each with a chat ticket. None confirms whether a formal complaint was registered. Before describing the operator’s complaint procedure as exhausted, the player asks for that procedure and the formal complaint reference, if one exists.
If a formal response later arrives, the next record identifies its date and the specific point still disputed. If no response arrives, the record identifies the published response standard and the follow-up attempt. These are different factual situations and should not be collapsed into “support ignored me”.
Prepare the route check without publishing private details
- Identify the actual operator and product; keep the relevant public terms or complaint procedure.
- Preserve the formal complaint reference privately and distinguish it from ordinary chat tickets.
- Record the response, or the relevant response window and unanswered follow-up.
- Use the official form’s current instructions for required identifiers and supporting information.
- If the product or operator falls outside the stated route, ask the appropriate official source rather than changing the facts to fit.
Keep the requested outcome precise
Ask for the specific explanation, record correction or review that the channel can address. A complaint submission is not evidence that a finding has been made. Keep acknowledgements separate from decisions and outcomes.
This guide does not decide legal rights, prescribe an appeal deadline or guarantee a remedy. The official route and its current conditions govern what you can submit; Northline does not act on your behalf.
